Pulmonary Dysfunction Is Associated With Sleep Study Abnormalities in Children With Sickle Cell Disease: A Multicenter Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pulmonary dysfunction and sleep abnormalities are common in children with sickle cell disease (SCD) and are associated with worse clinical outcomes. Whether spirometry abnormalities are associated with polysomnography (PSG) findings remains unclear.

Theorems of Second Korovkin Type with respect to Triangular $A$-Statistical Convergence

open access: yesUniversal Journal of Mathematics and Applications, 2023
This article is a continuation of our previous works. We mainly investigate a Korovkin type theorem for double sequences of positive linear operators defined in the space of all $2\pi $-periodic and real valued continuous functions on the real two ...

$L_1$-space for a positive operator affiliated with von Neumann algebra [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper we suggest an approach for constructing an L1-type space for a positive selfadjoint operator affiliated with von Neumann algebra. For such operator we intro- duce a seminorm, and prove that it is a norm if and only if the operator is ...

PPT from spectra

open access: yes, 2005
In this contribution we solve the following problem. Let H_{nm} be a Hilbert space of dimension nm, and let A be a positive semidefinite self-adjoint linear operator on H_{nm}. Under which conditions on the spectrum has A a positive partial transpose (is

Feasibility and Preliminary Efficacy of Integrative Neuromuscular Training for Childhood Cancer Survivors: A Pilot Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often exhibit early deficits in muscle and movement competence, which can compromise long‐term health. Integrative neuromuscular training (INT), a multifaceted approach combining fundamental movement activities with strength exercises, may help address these deficits during ...

On a Family of Parameter-Based Bernstein Type Operators with Shape-Preserving Properties

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2023
This article aims to introduce a new linear positive operator with a parameter. Our focus lies in analyzing the distinct characteristics and inherent properties exhibited by this operator.

Infection Control Practices for Vascular Access Management in Hemodialysis: Results From a Nationwide Survey of Japanese National University Hospitals

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Bloodstream infections due to repeated vascular access (VA) puncture and circuit connections remain major concerns in hemodialysis. Therefore, we examined current practices for glove, disinfectant, and personal protective equipment (PPE) use according to VA type in national university hospitals in Japan.

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Approximation process of a positive linear operator of hypergeometric type

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica
In this article, we construct a new sequence of positive linear operators Hn:B[0,1]→C[0,1]{H}_{n}:B{[}0,1]\to C{[}0,1] using the hypergeometric distribution of probability theory and the rational values of f at the equally spaced control points k∕nk/n

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.
