SPEECH CODING WITH LINEAR PREDICTIVE CODING
Mechanical and Electronics Engineering, 2009Speech coding has been and still is a major issue in the area of digital speech processing in which speech compression is needed for storing digital voice and it requires fixed amount of available memory and compression makes it possible to store longer messages.

Linear Predictive Coding Of Myoelectric Signals
Proceedings. (ICASSP '05). IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005., 2006Despite the great interest towards long term recordings of electromyographic (EMG) signals, which find applications, for example, in telemedicine, only a few studies have dealt with the compression of these signals. We propose a lossy coding technique for surface EMG signals.

If one approximates the vocal tract as a series of fixed length tubes (which is equivalent to representing it as an all-pole digital filter) it becomes possible to predict successive samples of the speech wave as linear combinations of previous samples. The coefficients in the linear combination characterize the shape of the vocal tract.

The basic principles of linear predictive coding (LPC) are presented. Least-squares methods for obtaining the LPC coefficients characterizing the all-pole filter are described. Computational factors, instantaneous updating, and spectral estimation are discussed. >

Linear predictive coding systems
ICASSP '76. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005This paper describes the real time implementation of a Linear Predictive Coding algorithm that has been developed over the past five years. The algorithm chosen for the analyzer is a modification of the Covariance Method introduced by B. S. Atal [1],[2] of Bell Labs. The system for pitch extraction uses a minimum distance function correlation technique.

Warped linear predictive speech coding
2011 IEEE International Conference on Signal and Image Processing Applications (ICSIPA), 2011This project aims to enhance human speech energy at low frequencies using linear prediction methods to achieve better performance for speech recognizers in noisy conditions. In order to achieve this, a recognition system based on Warped Linear Prediction (WLP) is proposed.

Piecewise linear predictive coding (PLPC)
ICASSP '76. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005A great deal of current research in the area of narrowband digital speech compression makes use of the Linear Prediction Coding (LPC) algorithm to extract the vocal track spectrum. This paper describes a technique that splits the spectrum into two equal halves and performs a piecewise LPC approximation to each half. By taking advantage of the classical

There is provided a code excitation linear predictive (CELP) coding or decoding apparatus in which a code vector, which is transmitted by a codebook such as a stochastic codebook, is converted adaptively in accordance with vocal tract analysis information (LPC) so that a high quality reproduction speech is obtained at a low coding rate.

Code excited linear prediction codec for electrocardiogram
The 26th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2005In this paper we propose a CELP ECG codec for medical telemetry. The encoding algorithm is based on CODE-EXCITED LINEAR PREDICTION (CELP). The general framework proposed is: QRS detection, calculation of LPC parameter, generation of residual error signal, codebook generation, MSE (mean square error) search. The codebook is generated for residual error.
