Linear Span Network for Object Skeleton Detection [PDF]
Robust object skeleton detection requires to explore rich representative visual features and effective feature fusion strategies. In this paper, we first re-visit the implementation of HED, the essential principle of which can be ideally described with a linear reconstruction model.

Minimum linear span approximation of binary sequences
Summary: The determination of the minimum linear span sequence that differs from a given binary sequence, of period \(N=2^n-1\), by at most one digit is discussed and three methods are presented: the sequential divisions method, the congruential equations method, and the phase synchronization method.

Velocity of magnetic holes in the solar wind from Cluster multipoint measurements [PDF]
We present the first statistical study on the velocity of magnetic holes (MHs) in the solar wind. Magnetic holes are localized depressions of the magnetic field, often divided into two classes: rotational and linear MHs.

Development of low-cost air quality stations for next-generation monitoring networks: calibration and validation of NO2 and O3 sensors [PDF]
A pre-deployment calibration and a field validation of two low-cost (LC) stations equipped with O3 and NO2 metal oxide sensors were addressed. Pre-deployment calibration was performed after developing and implementing a comprehensive calibration ...

A Span-based Linearization for Constituent Trees [PDF]
We propose a novel linearization of a constituent tree, together with a new locally normalized model. For each split point in a sentence, our model computes the normalizer on all spans ending with that split point, and then predicts a tree span from them. Compared with global models, our model is fast and parallelizable.
