On a reaction-diffusion system associated with brain lactate kinetics

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2017
Our aim in this article is to study properties of a reaction-diffusion system which is related with brain lactate kinetics, when spatial diffusion is taken into account. In particular, we prove the existence and uniqueness of nonnegative solutions and

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Lyapunov stability analysis of higher-order 2D systems

open access: yes, 2010
We prove a necessary and sufficient condition for the asymptotic stability of a 2D system described by a system of higher-order linear partial difference equations.

Linear groups as stabilizers of sets [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1977
A finite linear group over an infinite field is necessarily the full setwise stabilizer of some finite subset of the corresponding vector space. If the group is absolutely irreducible, the set can be taken to be a single orbit.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Stability of mappings on multi-normed spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper, we define multi-normed spaces, and investigate some properties of multi-bounded mappings on multi-normed spaces. Moreover, we prove a generalized Hyers–Ulam–Rassias stability theorem associated to the Cauchy additive equation for mappings ...

(Non)linear instability of periodic traveling waves: Klein–Gordon and KdV type equations

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis, 2014
We prove the existence and nonlinear instability of periodic traveling wave solutions for the critical one-dimensional Klein–Gordon equation. We also establish a linear instability criterium for a KdV type system.

Rogue Wave Type Solutions and Spectra of Coupled Nonlinear Schrödinger Equations

open access: yesFluids, 2019
The formation of rogue oceanic waves may be the result of different causes. Various factors (winds, currents, dispersive focussing, depth, nonlinear focussing and instability) make this subject intriguing, and yet its understanding is quite relevant to ...

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.
