Performance Evaluation of SENTiFIT 270 and FOB Gold Reagent for Detecting Fecal Occult Blood

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical Microbiology, 2019
Background: Fecal occult blood tests have been widely used to screen for colorectal cancer. SENTiFIT 270 (Sentinel diagnostics, Italy) is a fecal occult blood test with an immunochemical method that utilizes FOB Gold reagents.

Higher order non-linear effects in a Josephson parametric amplifier

open access: yes, 2015
Non-linearity of the current-phase relationship of a Josephson junction is the key resource for a Josephson parametric amplifier (JPA), the only device in which the quantum limit has so far been achieved at microwave frequencies.

Financial Burden Associated With Hospitalisation Among Families of Childhood Brain Tumours in Australia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Families of children with cancer experience significant financial strain, even with universal healthcare. Indirect costs, such as productivity losses and non‐medical expenses, are rarely included in economic evaluations, and little is known about how effectively financial aid programmes alleviate this burden. Childhood brain tumours

Harmonic entanglement with second-order non-linearity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We investigate the second-order non-linear interaction as a means to generate entanglement between fields of differing wavelengths. And show that perfect entanglement can, in principle, be produced between the fundamental and second harmonic fields in ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Stationary states of the Gross-Pitaevskii equation with linear counterpart

open access: yes, 2000
We study the stationary solutions of the Gross-Pitaevskii equation that reduce, in the limit of vanishing non-linearity, to the eigenfunctions of the associated Schr\"odinger equation.

Linearity considerations in adaptive antenna array applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The use of adaptive antenna in mobile communications base stations is self-explanatory. It offers the potential of increased spectrum efficiency, extended range of coverage and reduced delay spread.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

A 0.2-to-2.0GHz 65nm CMOS Receiver without LNA achieving >11dBm IIP3 and <6.5 dB NF [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) is a key specification of radio receivers and spectrum analyzers, characterizing the maximum distance between signal and noise+distortion.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).
