Development of a Measurement Device for Micro Gas Flowrate Based on Laminar Flow Element with Micro-Curved Surface

open access: yesMicromachines
The laminar flow meter (LFM) boasts several advantages such as no moving parts, a wide range ratio, high measurement accuracy, quick dynamic response, etc., and is a promising technology for micro gas flow measurement.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Validation of the procedure for determination of amino acids composition of glatiramer acetate by C-13 NMR spectroscopy

open access: yesРегуляторные исследования и экспертиза лекарственных средств, 2018
The article describes validation of the procedure for determination of amino acids composition of glatiramer acetate by C-13 NMR spectroscopy. The procedure makes it possible to determine the molar ratio of amino acids present in glatiramer acetate with ...

Signaling pathways as linear transmitters

open access: yeseLife, 2018
One challenge in biology is to make sense of the complexity of biological networks. A good system to approach this is signaling pathways, whose well-characterized molecular details allow us to relate the internal processes of each pathway to their input ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Transferring information without distortion

open access: yeseLife, 2018
Despite employing diverse molecular mechanisms, many different cell signaling systems avoid losing information by transmitting it in a linear manner.

Non-Linear Approximations in Linear Cryptanalysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
By considering the role of non-linear approximatioris in linear cryptanalysis we obtain a generalization of Matsui's linear cryptanalytic techniques. This approach allows Ihe cryptanalyst greater flexibility in mounting a linear cryptanalytic attack and we demonstrate the effectiveness of our non-linear techniques with some simple attacks on LOK191 ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

A 28-GHz mmWave Receiver Frontend With an Improved FOM of 15.56-dB for 5G New Radio in 130-nm BiCMOS Technology

open access: yesIEEE Access
It has been a challenging task for the researchers to achieve the desired performance of receiver at millimeter-wave (mmWave) frequency bands due to trade-off among performance parameters.
