Geometry behind the position of stairs: balance in the mind [PDF]
In this paper we examine the link between the human body and architectural design. For this purpose, we combine Cognitive Metaphor Theory (CMT) and geometry.

Near‐Field Electrospinning Micro‐Printhead Achieves Precise Control of Nanofiber Deposition
A micro‐printhead for near‐field electrospinning enables reproducible deposition of polymer nanofibers with diameters below 50 nm. Systematic parameter studies uncover the mechanisms linking operating conditions to fiber morphology, paving the way for precise and low‐cost nanoscale 3D manufacturing. As a high‐resolution, cost‐effective, and rapid ...

Givental symmetries of Frobenius manifolds and multi-component KP tau-functions
We establish a link between two different constructions of the action of the twisted loop group on the space of Frobenius structures. The first construction (due to Givental) describes the action of the twisted loop group on the partition functions of ...

Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Predicting the Effects of Customized Corneal Cross-Linking on Corneal Geometry
Purpose To validate an existing finite element model (FEM) for predicting the flattening effect of corneal cross-linking (CXL) in a clinical scenario and to use this model to investigate the parameters that most influence CXL-induced flattening effects. Methods Retrospective data were collected from two clinical cohorts, each with 20 patients receiving ...

Approximating ideal shapes with tight elements
A variational approach is applied to the problem of finding the shortest curves in space separated by constant distance. Among particular extremal solutions are straight line, circular arc and double helix. Various knots and links may be assembled from

A combined finite element and phase‐field approach predicts the evolution of microstructure during the directional solidification of Ni‐based superalloys. The model reveals how withdrawal rate, temperature gradient, and wall thickness control the dendrite spacing, highlighting the strong effect of surface regions in thin sections where dendrite growth ...

Powder Optimization Strategies for Binder Jetting Printing of BaTiO3 and Ba0,6Sr0,4TiO3 Ceramics
Powder optimization is investigated to enable binder jetting of BaTiO3 and Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 ferroelectric ceramics. The antagonistic relationship between flowability and binder compatibility is addressed through binder impregnation of granulated powders and fumed silica addition to fine powders.
