Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 1971Isoenzymes of peroxidase were separated on acrylamide gels in 2 genotypes of Linum usitatissimum L. and their F 1, F 2 and first backcross progeny. Linum trigynum Hardwicke’s description of this species is brief: “It is perennial, shrubby, grows to a spreading bush about four feet high, stem and branches erect, slender, piped. It makes a handsome appearance with its numerous yellow flowers ...” But I believe that it is adequate to validate Roxburgh’s name Linum trigynum. It was accepted as such by

Chromosome comparison of species from sections Syllinum, Dasylinum, Adenolinum, Stellerolinum and Linum was shown that species from sections Adenolinum, Stellerolinum and Linum have common ancestor which simultaneously radiated with species of sections Syllinum, Dasylinum, Adenolinum from common progenitor Protolinum.
