Peroxidase isoenzymes in Linum
Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 1971Isoenzymes of peroxidase were separated on acrylamide gels in 2 genotypes of Linum usitatissimum L. and their F 1, F 2 and first backcross progeny. Active extracts were obtained from homogenates of main stem tissue; activity was measured both before and after electrophoretic separation.

Aryltetralin lignans from Linum flavum and Linum capitatum
Phytochemistry, 1990Abstract Phytochemical analysis of ethanol extracts from Linum flavum, L. flavum compactum and L. capitatum has demonstrated their capability of producing and storing relatively large amounts of cytotoxic aryltetralin lignans structurally related to podophyllotoxin. 5-Methoxypodophyllotoxin, its glucoside and acetate are the main constituents of both

Linum trigynum Hardwicke’s description of this species is brief: “It is perennial, shrubby, grows to a spreading bush about four feet high, stem and branches erect, slender, piped. It makes a handsome appearance with its numerous yellow flowers ...” But I believe that it is adequate to validate Roxburgh’s name Linum trigynum. It was accepted as such by

Abstract— Based on optical microscopy and electron microprobe analysis, Linum is classified as an L6b chondrite that contains olivine (Fa24), orthopyroxene (Fs20), clinopyroxene (Wo45En47Fs8), plagioclase (An10Ab84Or6), nickel‐iron, troilite, chromite and accessory amounts of chlorapatite and whitlockite.

Lignans in seeds of Linum species
Phytochemistry, 2012Mature seeds of 20 Linum species were analyzed for their content of lignans. The seeds of common flax (Linum usitatissimum L.) are known to contain as characteristic lignan sesoisolariciresinol diglucoside (SDG), whose presence in seeds of some other Linum species has also been reported.

Chromosome comparison of species from sections Syllinum, Dasylinum, Adenolinum, Stellerolinum and Linum was shown that species from sections Adenolinum, Stellerolinum and Linum have common ancestor which simultaneously radiated with species of sections Syllinum, Dasylinum, Adenolinum from common progenitor Protolinum.

Lignans fromLinumspecies of sections Syllinum andLinum
Natural Product Research, 2007The aryltetralin lignans 6-methoxypodophyllotoxin, 5'-demethoxy-6-methoxypodophyllotoxin as well as the corresponding 8'-epimers 6-methoxypicropodophyllin, and 5'-demethoxy-6-methoxypicropodophyllin were isolated from suspension cultures of Linum cariense, and 4'-demethyl-6-methoxypodophyllotoxin together with 6-methoxypodophyllotoxin from plants of L.

Recently it was found that cell cultures and plants of Linum species contain lignans of various chemical structures. The stereochemistry of these compounds differ among species. Cell cultures of L. album accumulate (-)-podophyllotoxin together with pure (-)-secoisolariciresinol.
