Anther culture of linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.)

2003
Linum usitatissimum (L.) is grown as linseed (for oil) or flax (for fibre) and is one of the oldest cultivated plants in temperate regions. The oilseed types (linseed or oil flax) compared to the fibre types (flax) have shorter and thicker stems with more branches, whereas flax produces fewer capsules and smaller seeds. It is an autogamous species with

LECTOTYPIFICATION OFLINUM USITATISSIMUML. (LINACEAE): A RECTIFICATION

TAXON, 1989
The Uppsala specimen was annotated by Linnaeus, and appears to have been in his collection prior to the description of the species. It is the only specimen of Clematis virginiana annotated as such by Linnaeus, and as far as we can see, the only actual specimen he had at hand when describing the species.

Flax (Linum usitatissimum L.): Embryo Culture Studies

1990
Embryo culture in general serves to study factors influencing embryo nutrition under both in vitro and in situ conditions. It is useful in studying embryo-endosperm relationships (Erdelska 1985 a, b,c, 1988) and the process of embryo growth and differentiation, and offers new and unconventional methods of characterizing the process of embryogenesis and
