Lipidomic Profiling of the Epidermis in a Mouse Model of Dermatitis Reveals Sexual Dimorphism and Changes in Lipid Composition before the Onset of Clinical Disease.

open access: yes, 2020
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a multifactorial disease associated with alterations in lipid composition and organization in the epidermis. Multiple variants of AD exist with different outcomes in response to therapies.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Differentiation of histological calcification classifications in breast cancer using ultrashort echo time and chemical shift-encoded imaging MRI

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
IntroductionDuctal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) accounts for 25% of newly diagnosed breast cancer cases with only 14%–53% developing into invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC), but currently overtreated due to inadequate accuracy of mammography.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Lipid Characterization of Beach-Cast Seaweeds from Gran Canaria Island: Potential Use in Human and Animal Nutrition

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
Macroalgal wracks can be considered unpleasant for beach users and, consequently, they are usually collected from most touristic beaches and discarded.

Lipid Composition of Mayonnaise

open access: yesThe Japanese Journal of Nutrition and Dietetics, 1970
It is advisable to use vegetable oil in fat-controled diet, because it contains poly-enoic fatty acids.Mayonnaise is an oil-vinegar emulsion made from vinegar and vegetable oil stabilized with egg-yolk.We analysed lipid composition of eight brands of mayonnaise. The ratio of poly-unsaturated fatty acids to saturated fatty acids approximates two or three

Study of protein-bacteriochlorophyll and protein-lipid interactions of natural and model light-harvesting complex 2 in purple bacterium Rhodobacter sphaeroides. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The natural design of the photosystems of plants and photosynthetic bacteria using chlorophylls (Chls) or bacteriochlorophylls (BChls) as photoreceptors are robust.
