Patterning Polymerized Lipid Vesicles with Soft Lithography
Langmuir, 2005The applications of soft lithography in patterning polymerized lipid vesicles of 1,2-bis(tricosa-10,12-diynoyl)-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine on glass substrates are reported. We demonstrate that the polymerized vesicles can be used as a high molecular weight ink to be transferred from a PDMS stamp onto a glass substrate to form two-dimensional stripes ...

Patterning Polymer-Supported Lipid Bilayers
2001This project aims to micro-pattern polymer-supported lipid bilayers by corralling the supramolecular architectures with chemical/physical barriers. To achieve this goal, random lipo/glyco-copolymer was synthesized and characterized for interfacial properties.

Lipid pattern of plasma in the presence of episcleral lipid deposits
Acta Ophthalmologica, 1986Abstract Examination of 40 subjects aged under 70 with episcleral lipid deposits revealed an abnormal serum lipid pattern in 48% of all. No correlation was noticed between the number of lipid deposits and the raised plasma lipid concentration or the distribution of fatty acids (saturated, unsaturated).

Pattern Formation in Lipid Membranes
1987This paper draws attention to a class of pseudo-two-dimensional materials which are exceptional candidates for observing a variety of time-dependent effects, including fractal growth during crystallization, grain-boundary formation and dynamics, interfacial melting, and wetting. These materials are planar macromolecular aggregates formed by amphiphiles

Lipidized glioblastoma: a rare differentiation pattern.
Neuropathology : official journal of the Japanese Society of Neuropathology, 2011We report a rare case of lipidized glioblastoma arising in the tempo-parietal lobe of a 65 year-old woman. The tumor was composed of diffuse sheets of lipidized cells with abundant xanthomatous cytoplasm comprising 60% of the tumor mass. These cells revealed immunopositivity with glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) and the accumulation of lipid was ...

Serum lipid pattern in beta-thalassaemia.
Acta haematologica, 1978Serum lipids, phospholipid fractions and the composition of serum lipid fatty acids were studied in 20 children presenting beta-thalassaemia major, 20 heterozygous children and 20 normal controls. Total serum phospholipids, their fractions and cholesterol were significantly lower in patients with thalassaemia major.

Lipid Pattern in Split Ejaculate and Klinefelter’s Syndrome
Fertility and Sterility, 1980Total lipids, phospholipids, and cholesterol are present in greater amounts in fraction I of split ejaculates of normal healthy volunteers than in other fractions. Glyceride concentrations are higher in fraction III. The cholesterol-phospholipid ratio varies significantly in different fractions.
