1H NMR metabolomics and lipidomics analysis of neutrophils reveals biomarkers of ageing, inflammageing and frailty

Using 1H NMR metabolomics, we measured polar and lipid metabolites from human blood neutrophils from people with frailty (n = 31, mean age 84Y), people with rheumatoid arthritis (n = 16, mean age 55Y), robust older (n = 24, mean age 66Y) and healthy younger people (n = 21, mean age 22Y).

Circadian disruption elicits sex‐specific gut microbiota, endocannabinoidome, and lipid mediator responses

Circadian disruption via constant light induces sex‐specific remodeling of the microbiome, lipid mediators, and immune responses. Females exhibit broader gut microbiota alterations, reduced jejunal oxylipins, increased hypothalamic N‐acylethanolamines, and a more inflammatory cytokine profile. Circadian rhythms of metabolite abundance in Drosophila are largely driven by time of feeding

Circadian clocks exist in the brain and peripheral tissues such as the Drosophila fat body. Single‐nuclei transcriptomics reveal that the fat body clock generates time‐of‐day differences in metabolic gene transcription, which may also be indirectly controlled by brain clocks.

Effects of repeated exposure to ozonated water on hair fibre structure and integrity: Part I

Repeated exposure to ozonated water caused cumulative oxidative changes in hair, altering structural integrity, thermal behaviour and mechanical properties.
