Cyclic Lipopeptide Antibiotics
2008Abstract Numerous natural products have been discovered, mainly from microorganisms, algae and plants, that often exhibit interesting and useful biological activities. Of these, cyclic lipopeptide antibiotics form the biggest group and provide several clinically important drugs.

Daptomycin: A novel cyclic lipopeptide antimicrobial
American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy, 2005The development, activity, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, clinical efficacy, adverse effects, and dosage and administration of daptomycin are reviewed.Daptomycin, a novel cyclic lipopeptide antimicrobial, is bactericidal against a range of gram-positive bacteria, including many multiple-drug-resistant isolates. It has only minimal activity against

Glycopeptides, Lipopeptides, and Lipoglycopeptides
2011Due to increasing resistance in Gram-positive organisms, use of glycopeptides, lipopeptides, and lipoglycopeptides will steadily increase. These three classes of drugs are primarily renally eliminated; therefore, CYP 450 interactions are not of concern.

Isolation of “lipopeptides” from hen oviduct
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, 1963Abstract The isolation of two apparent lipopeptides from hen oviduct is described. It was found that fatty acids and amino acids were liberated from these compounds by hydrolysis. Arachidonic acid was particularly prominent in the hydrolysate of one, and palmitic acid in the hydrolysate of the other.
