Dyslipidemia Diagnosis and Treatment: Risk Stratification in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesJournal of Nutrition and Metabolism, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Dyslipidemias or dyslipoproteinemias are quantitative changes in total cholesterol concentration, respective fractions, or triglycerides in the plasma. Evidence supported that dyslipidemia in childhood is associated with atherosclerosis in adulthood, and early identification and treatment potentially reduce cardiovascular risk in adulthood, which is ...

Resveratrol Modifies Lipid Composition of Two Cancer Cell Lines

open access: yesBioMed Research International, Volume 2020, Issue 1, 2020., 2020
Resveratrol (Resv) offers health benefits in cancer and has been reported to modulate important enzymes of lipid metabolism. Studies of its effects on lipid composition in different subtypes of breast‐cancer cells are scarce. Thus, we investigated the alterations in phospholipids (PL), fatty acids (FA), and lipid metabolism enzymes in two breast‐cancer

Optimization of Phenolics Extracted from Idesia polycarpa Defatted Fruit Residue and Its Antioxidant and Depigmenting Activity In Vitro and In Vivo

open access: yesEvidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Volume 2014, Issue 1, 2014., 2014
Extraction of phenolics from Idesia polycarpa defatted fruit residue was optimized by the maximization of the yield in total phenolics, using the response surface methodology. The optimized conditions were 50% ethanol, 5 h extraction time, 1 : 40 liquid to solid ratio, and 80°C extraction temperature.

Synthesis and Anti‐Inflammatory Activity of New Alkyl‐Substituted Phthalimide 1H‐1,2,3‐Triazole Derivatives

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, Volume 2012, Issue 1, 2012., 2012
Four new 1,2,3‐triazole phthalimide derivatives with a potent anti‐inflammatory activity have been synthesized in the good yields by the 1,3‐dipolar cycloaddition reaction from N‐(azido‐alkyl)phthalimides and terminal alkynes. The anti‐inflammatory activity was determined by injecting carrageenan through the plantar tissue of the right hind paw of ...

Single‐nucleotide polymorphisms in coronary artery disease: Biological complexity, risk architecture, and implications for precision prevention

open access: yesPrecision Medical Sciences, Volume 15, Issue 2, Page 91-101, June 2026.
This graphical summary highlights the clinical application of single‐nucleotide polymorphisms‐based risk stratification in coronary artery disease. By integrating polygenic risk with clinical assessment, imaging, and preventive strategies, genetic information enables earlier risk identification, optimized screening, and personalized lifestyle and ...

Characterization of the Lipid Profile of Immature and In Vitro Matured Cat Oocytes

open access: yesMolecular Reproduction and Development, Volume 92, Issue 8, August 2025.
ABSTRACT Forskolin (FSK), l‐carnitine (LC), and Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) are lipid modulators that reduce cellular lipid content. This study characterizes the lipid profile and mRNA content of immature and in vitro matured cat oocytes with or without a MIX of these modulators. Ovaries were collected, COC retrieved, and allocated into three groups:
