The Importance of Lipoprotein Lipase Regulation in Atherosclerosis [PDF]
Lipoprotein lipase (LPL) plays a major role in the lipid homeostasis mainly by mediating the intravascular lipolysis of triglyceride rich lipoproteins. Impaired LPL activity leads to the accumulation of chylomicrons and very low-density lipoproteins (VLDL) in plasma, resulting in hypertriglyceridemia.

Traditional Iranian butter samples were collected from different parts of Iran and were screened for the presence of Lactic acid bacteria. The selected LAB were identified to species level by biphasic approach. The ability of selected LAB to lower the cholestrol both in vitro and in situ was then determined.

Lactobacillus paracasei N1115 attenuates obesity in high‐fat diet‐induced obese mice
Lactobacillus paracasei N1115 relieved high fat diet induced obesity. Lactobacillus paracasei N1115 decreased body weight, fat accumulation and hyperlipidemia by increasing the abundance of beneficial bacteria (Allobaculum and L. Zeae) and decreased harmful bacteria (Turicibacter).

Edible red seaweed G. furcata alleviates obesity and associated metabolic disorders in mice fed a high fat diet by suppressing intestinal lipid absorption, oxidative stress and inflammation. Abstract Obesity and diabetes are serious, chronic medical conditions associated with a wide range of life‐threatening conditions.

Hepatic APOF transcript levels correlate inversely with plasma TG and hepatic steatosis in humans. ApoF expression in mice promotes VLDL‐TG production and lipoprotein remnant clearance in mice. Abstract Background NAFLD affects nearly 25% of the global population. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the most common cause of death among patients with NAFLD,

The role of SMLR1 in lipid metabolism (high fat + cholesterol diet in mice) Abstract Background and Aims The assembly and secretion of VLDL from the liver, a pathway that affects hepatic and plasma lipids, remains incompletely understood. We set out to identify players in the VLDL biogenesis pathway by identifying genes that are co‐expressed with the ...

We observed the histological and inflammatory characteristics of epidural fat (EF) adjacent to the ossification area in patients with ossification of the thoracic ligament flavum (TOLF) and provide a preliminary basis for investigating the impact of EF on OLF. Morphologically, EF exhibits no significant differences between the TOLF and non‐TOLF groups,

Correctly validating results from single molecule data: the case of stretched exponential decay in the catalytic activity of single lipase B molecules [PDF]
The question of how to validate and interpret correctly the waiting time probability density functions (WT-PDFs) from single molecule data is addressed. It is shown by simulation that when a stretched exponential WT-PDF, with a stretched exponent alfa and a time scale parameter tau, generates the off periods of a two-state trajectory, a reliable ...

Molecular rules for selectivity in lipase-catalysed acylation of lysine [PDF]
The selectivity of L-lysine acylation by lauric acid catalysed by Candida antarctica lipase B (CALB) was investigated combining experimental and theoretical methodologies. Experiments showed the near-exclusive acylation of lysine $\epsilon$-amino group; only traces of product resulting from the acylation of lysine $\alpha$-amino group were observed ...

Abstract Per‐ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), which include perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), heptafluorobutyric acid (HFBA), and perfluorotetradecanoic acid (PFTA), are commonly occurring organic pollutants. Exposure to PFAS affects the immune system, thyroid and kidney function, lipid metabolism, and insulin signaling and is also involved in the ...
