Study of the correlations between serum iron and Hepcidin with some biochemical variables in hyperlipidemia of elderly males and females in Salah Al Deen Province

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Pure Science, 2020
The present research was designed to investigate the role of the relationship between Iron and hepcidin hormon with some biochemical variables in patients with hyperlipidemia in both males and females elderly in Salah al-Din governorate.

Moderate exercise increases affinity of large very low density lipoproteins for hydrolysis by lipoprotein lipase [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Context: Postprandial triglyceride (TG) concentration is independently associated with cardiovascular disease risk. Exercise reduces postprandial TG concentrations but the mechanisms responsible are unclear.

Detection of vesicular lipoproteins in lecithin:cholesterol acyltransferase-deficient plasma by 1H-NMR spectroscopy.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1989
The proton NMR spectra of the N-methyl choline region of normal and lecithin:cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT)-deficient lipoproteins and of egg yolk phosphatidylcholine-cholesterol 55:45 (mol %) vesicle mixtures have been examined in the presence and ...

Differential Effects of Lipid-lowering Drugs in Modulating Morphology of Cholesterol Particles. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Treatment of dyslipidemia patients with lipid-lowering drugs leads to a significant reduction in low-density lipoproteins (LDL) level and a low to moderate level of increase in high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol in plasma.

Identification of amino acids essential for angulin‐1/3 binding of the tricellular tight junction binder, angubindin‐1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Angubindin‐1 binds angulin‐1/‐3 at tricellular tight junctions, enhancing intestinal macromolecule permeation. Alanine scanning identified six essential residues (L562, L598, E638, V640, Y643, and K644) of angubindin‐1 critical for binding to angulin‐1/‐3 and permeation‐enhancing activity, providing insights for the development of targeted noninvasive ...

Lipoprotein metabolism in the ovariectomized rat.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1983
The hyperlipoproteinemia observed after ovariectomy in rats was previously shown to be associated with increased concentrations of cholesterol, triglycerides, and apolipoproteins B, E, and C.

Pathophysiology of elevated ascites fluid cholesterol in malignant ascites [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
The existence of marked elevations of ascitic fluid cholesterol has been observed in patients with peritoneal carcinomatosis compared to patients with cirrhosis and has been found useful in differential diagnosis.

Electrical pulse stimulation reflecting the episodic nature of real‐life exercise modulates metabolic and secretory profile of primary human myotubes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Here, we introduced an intermittent electrical stimulation protocol mimicking the episodic nature of real‐life exercise in vitro by alternating low‐ and high‐frequency stimulation. In comparison with widely used continuous stimulation, it enhanced the rate of glucose and fatty acid oxidation, but not the myokine release.
