How Do Patient Demographics and Socioeconomic Disadvantage Impact Clinical Presentation, Surgical Outcomes, and Survival for Upper Extremity Soft Tissue Sarcoma?

open access: yesCancer Reports, Volume 9, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Soft tissue sarcomas (STS) of the upper extremity (UE) are uncommon and may require complex surgical management. Socioeconomic disadvantage, race/ethnicity, sex, and marital status may influence presentation, surgical complexity, local recurrence (LR), and overall survival (OS).

Single‐nucleus RNA sequencing reveals the distinct heterogeneity of primary pulmonary sarcomas (PPS) and pulmonary sarcomatoid carcinoma (PSC)

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 2026.
Single‐nucleus RNA sequencing (snRNA‐seq) maps the cellular diversity of pulmonary sarcomatoid carcinoma (PSC) and primary pulmonary sarcomas (PPS). AT2 cells, a major source of epithelial cells in PSC, underwent malignant transformation primarily through epithelial–mesenchymal transition, suggesting AT2 cells may serve as the origin of PSC.

Synthetic lethality in cancer therapy: Mechanisms, models and clinical translation for overcoming therapeutic resistance

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 2026.
Application of synthetic lethality screening in drug resistance models. Abstract Background and Rationale Synthetic lethality (SL)‐based strategies hold significant promise for overcoming therapeutic resistance, a critical bottleneck in cancer treatment where cancer cells evade anticancer therapies, leading to diminished efficacy or treatment failure ...
