A Deep Learning‐Enhanced Ensemble Smoother for Non‐Gaussian Hydrological Data Assimilation Without Relying on Innovation Vectors

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Machine Learning and Computation, Volume 3, Issue 3, June 2026.
Abstract Data assimilation (DA) plays a critical role in reducing simulation uncertainty in hydrological systems by leveraging available observations to estimate model states and/or parameters. Among DA methods, the ensemble smoother (ES) has emerged as an attractive option for parameter estimation due to its computational efficiency and ...

Anti-periodic solutions for recurrent neural networks without assuming global Lipschitz conditions

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2010
In this paper we study recurrent neural networks with time-varying delays and continuously distributed delays. Without assuming global Lipschitz conditions on the activation functions, we establish the existence and local exponential stability of ...

From gateway to value ladder—The curious case of online mutual aid in China

open access: yesJournal of Risk and Insurance, Volume 93, Issue 2, Page 349-387, June 2026.
Abstract This study examines how InsurTech‐enabled information provision, specifically the disclosure of claimant information previously unavailable in conventional insurance, influences individuals' insurance uptake. We leverage Mutual Aid (MA) platforms as a natural context to examine how socially framed loss information, peer influence, and salience

Selective Convergence of Followers to Multiple Leaders With Repulsion and Cohesion on Riemannian Manifolds

open access: yesStudies in Applied Mathematics, Volume 156, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT We study the long‐term dynamics of followers that selectively follow one of multiple leaders on Riemannian manifolds, where the leaders interact through repulsive forces while remaining cohesively bounded. We propose a multileader–follower multiagent system defined on Riemannian manifolds. In our model, each follower chooses exactly one leader

Multiplicity of nonnegative solutions for semilinear Robin problems involving sign‐changing nonlinearities

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract In this article, we investigate the existence and multiplicity of solutions to the Robin problem −Δu=λf(u)inΩ,∂u∂ν+γu=0on∂Ω,$$\begin{equation*} {\begin{cases} -\Delta u = \lambda f(u) & \text{in } \Omega,\\ \frac{\partial u}{\partial \nu } + \gamma u=0 & \text{on } \partial \Omega, \end{cases}} \end{equation*}$$where Ω⊂RN$\Omega \subset ...

A strong quantitative form of the fractional isoperimetric inequality

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 113, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract We show a strong version of the fractional quantitative isoperimetric inequality, in which the isoperimetric deficit controls not only the Fraenkel asymmetry but also a sort of oscillation of the boundary. This generalizes the local result by Fusco and Julin in [22].

Stability and uniqueness of bounded weak solutions to triangular degenerate cross‐diffusion systems

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 113, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract The continuous dependence on the initial data and consequently the uniqueness of bounded weak solutions to a class of triangular reaction‐cross‐diffusion equations is shown. The class includes two‐species doubly degenerate equations for nutrient taxis models describing the response of bacteria to nutrient conditions.

Coulomb branch algebras via symplectic cohomology

open access: yesJournal of Topology, Volume 19, Issue 2, June 2026.
Abstract Let (M¯,ω)$(\bar{M}, \omega)$ be a compact symplectic manifold with convex boundary and c1(TM¯)=0$c_1(T\bar{M})=0$. Suppose that (M¯,ω)$(\bar{M}, \omega)$ is equipped with a convex Hamiltonian G$G$‐action for some connected, compact Lie group G$G$.

Towards the boundary of the fine curve graph

open access: yesJournal of Topology, Volume 19, Issue 2, June 2026.
Abstract The fine curve graph was introduced as a geometric tool to study homeomorphisms of surfaces. In this paper, we study the Gromov boundary of this space and the local topology near points associated with certain foliations and laminations. We then give several applications including finding dynamically explicit elements with positive stable ...

Stability of Lipschitz type in determination of initial heat distribution

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 1997
For the solution of the equations where , is a bounded domain with -boundary and for an appropriate subboundary of we prove a Lipschitz estimate of : For and for a positive constant The norm is involved and strong, but it is a natural one in ...
