Interplay Between Green Investment and Market Price Premia in Global Shipping

open access: yesInternational Journal of Finance &Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Existing research emphasises that the driver of green investment is its future profitability. This paper shows that other investors' decisions also influence green investment. We take the example of scrubber installation in shipping, which is optional by regulation but has an established market for trading its underlying asset.

Preliminary Study on Unit Commitment for Renewable Energy Integration Considering Operation Cost and Life Cycle Assessment

open access: yesIEEJ Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Engineering, EarlyView.
Most countries, including Japan, are focused on achieving net‐zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050, which requires quick action. Despite the increasing level of renewable power generation in power grids, fossil fuel power plants still have a significant role in producing GHG emissions, causing serious environmental issues.

Weathering prediction model for stored liquefied natural gas (LNG) [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Natural Gas Science and Engineering, 2015
Abstract A model is proposed to predict the weathering of LNG stored in containment tanks, typically used in regasification terminals, due to the effects of heat ingress and Boil-off-Gas (BOG) release. The model integrates a rigorous thermodynamic model of LNG vapour–liquid equilibrium and a realistic heat transfer model.

Stock Option Incentives and Corporate Hedging Decisions: Theory and Empirical Evidence

open access: yesFinancial Markets, Institutions &Instruments, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper examines how managerial risk‐taking incentives impact corporate hedging decisions. By nesting a well‐known corporate hedging model within a principal‐agent framework, we show that managers are motivated to maintain the same level of hedge intensity even if they are provided with stock option incentives.
