Microstructure-Enhanced Liquid–Liquid Extraction in a Real-Time Fluorescence Detection Microfluidic Chip

open access: yesMicromachines, 2016
Microfluidic system is widely employed in the detection of environmental contaminants and biological specimens. One of the critical issues which limits the applications of microfluidic chips is the limit of detection of trace specimens.

Ionic Liquid Solvent Design Framework for Extraction of Phytochemicals using Microwave-Assisted Method

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2020
Computer aided molecular design (CAMD) has been used widely for solvent design. It is a reverse approach in the selection of solvents for real application.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Ekstraksi Ion Krom Dalam Asam Nitrat Dengan Teknologi Membran Cair Untuk Limbah Industri Penyamakan Kulit [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The objective of the research was to use of liquid membrane emulsion technique for the extraction of chrom in the nitrate acid solution. The liquid membrane phase as emulsion consists of kerosene as the solvent, sorbitan monooleat (span-80) as the ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Liquid - Liquid Extraction of 2, 3-Butanediol from Fermentation Broth [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 2012
Recovery of metabolites from fermentation broth by solvent extraction can be used to optimize fermentation processes. End-product reutilization, low product concentration, large volumes of fermentation broth and the requirements for large bioreactors, in

Recovery of succinic acid in fermentation broth via reactive LL extraction: effect of chemical kinetics and solvent choice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, a study of kinetics effects on the reactive liquid-liquid extraction column is proposed. In a first part, design parameters of reactive liquid-liquid extraction column are derived from a method proposed by Mizzi (2016).

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

Determining the distribution of triclosan and methyl triclosan in estuarine settings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We have developed a method for the analysis of two sewage-derived contaminants: triclosan (TCS), an antibacterial agent, and methyl triclosan (MTCS), a TCS metabolite.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.
