Liquid air filtration and continuous monitoring: Customized indoor air quality [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Air treatment in environmental air conditioning systems exposes the system to gases, contaminants, and often biological pollutants that cannot be solved by traditional mechanical filtration, motivating decision-makers to diagnose challenges and develop ...

Flow Enabled Target Capture Halbach‐based magnetic enrichment increases circulating tumor cell capture from blood in metastatic cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

Phase inversion in liquid phase for air-liquid horizontal flow

open access: yesCogent Engineering, 2020
This project is primarily aimed at determining the effect of phase inversion on oil-water dispersion from a three-phase mixture comprising of an oil-water emulsion at different oil percentages and air at varying liquid and gas flowrates through a ...

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

POSSIBILITIES OF LIQUID AIR TO THE PHYSICIAN. [PDF]

open access: yesJAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1901
It is now over a year since I began the use of liquid air in the hospitals of New York, and less than a year since I published in the Medical Record a preliminary report of the results obtained by its use up to that time; and I am led to-day to accept your invitation to present this subject to your Section, no less by the pleasant recollections of the ...

Sudden anaerobization in Amphibacillus xylanus increases intracellular labile ferrous iron and inhibits cell growth

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...

Hyperactive ice‐binding proteins stabilize cell membranes and improve resistance to dehydration stress in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.
