Oligomerizing Pluronic triblock copolymers provides a processing strategy for tuning the mechanical properties and stimuli‐responsive behaviors of micellar hydrogels. Varying oligomer fraction produces hydrogels spanning brittle to highly extensible responses; maintaining micellar architectures enables cooling‐induced reverse thermal shape memory and ...

ANALYSIS OF GEOMETRIC PARAMETERS OF COLD PACKED BED ENERGY STORAGE FOR LIQUID AIR ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEMS [PDF]
Among large-scale energy storage systems, liquid air energy storage systems have gained a wide interest due to their advantages such as high energy density, not being geographically restricted, and being environmentally safe. An essential component that has a large influence on the performance of the system is the cold energy storage, which stores the ...

This study develops a tunable n‐OSC hydrogel (PBFDO‐PAAc) platform with a tunable porous network and thermoelectric properties. It demonstrates the first report of n‐OSC hydrogels for evaporation‐driven hydrovoltaic‐thermoelectric electricity generation as well as chemically dedoping‐mediated OECT working mode reconfiguration. This work expands n‐OSCs’

Simulation of heat transfer in the cool storage unit of a liquid–air energy storage system
AbstractAn energy storage system that stores energy in the form of liquid air was studied. In this system, the cool storage unit was the most important unit. From the viewpoint of safety and economy, it was most promising to store the cold energy as the sensitive heat of a solid such as pebbles or concrete.

Conformational Switching of Proteins on Material Surfaces Enabled by Peptide‐Oriented Adsorption
Responsive biointerfaces could be achieved using conformationally responsive proteins; however, their interconversion can be lost upon surface adsorption. Herein, we demonstrate that the incorporation a Au binding peptide into calmodulin allows for binding control on Au wherein the protein retains conformational switching. This capability was confirmed
