Spatiotemporal Control Over Protein Release from Artificial Cells via a Light‐Activatable Protease
Stimulus‐responsive protein release is essential for intercellular communication. Mimicking this functionality in artificial cells is promising to study the working principles of cellular signaling. Herein, an engineered light‐activatable protease is implemented in a coacervate‐based artificial cell platform to establish user‐defined spatiotemporal ...

Stronger findings from mass spectral data through multi-peak modeling [PDF]
Mass spectrometry-based metabolomic analysis depends upon the identification of spectral peaks by their mass and retention time. Statistical analysis that follows the identification currently relies on one main peak of each compound. However, a compound present in the sample typically produces several spectral peaks due to its isotopic properties and ...

Peak Detection On Data Independent Acquisition Mass Spectrometry Data With Semisupervised Convolutional Transformers [PDF]
Liquid Chromatography coupled to Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) based methods are commonly used for high-throughput, quantitative measurements of the proteome (i.e. the set of all proteins in a sample at a given time). Targeted LC-MS produces data in the form of a two-dimensional time series spectrum, with the mass to charge ratio of analytes (m/z) on one ...

Peak Alignment of Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry Data with Deep Learning [PDF]
We present ChromAlignNet, a deep learning model for alignment of peaks in Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) data. In GC-MS data, a compound's retention time (RT) may not stay fixed across multiple chromatograms. To use GC-MS data for biomarker discovery requires alignment of identical analyte's RT from different samples.

Ultrasonic elastography for the prevention of breast implant rupture: Detection of an increase with stiffness over implantation time [PDF]
Breast implants are widely used after breast cancer resection and must be changed regularly to avoid a rupture. To date, there are no quantitative criteria to help this decision. The mechanical evolution of the gels and membranes of the implants is still under investigated, although it can lead to early rupture. In this study, 35 breast explants having

This study demonstrates the feasibility of fabricating free‐standing carbon paper electrodes by electroplating and galvanic replacement. Nanostructured AgM (M = Au, Pt, Pd) bimetallic catalysts are directly grown on the electrode substrate, which exhibit good performance for glycerol electrolysis, a sustainable approach for the co‐production of green ...

A liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry method for simultaneous analysis of 46 atmospheric particulate-phase persistent organic pollutants and comparison with gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, [PDF]
A novel multi-analyte method for the simultaneous determination of 46 compounds of environmental concern, most of them belonging to the category of persistent organic pollutants, was developed using high-performance liquid chromatography and the results ...
