The effect of liquid glass on the deformation of refractory binder/Skystojo stiklo įtaka kaitrai atsparaus rišiklio deformacijoms

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering and Management, 2001
The structure formation of a refractory binder of liquid glass, ferrochrome slag and dispersed chamotte has been studied. It has been found that there is a close relationship between the density of liquid glass used and sharp expansion of binder at the ...

Predicting Glass-to-Glass and Liquid-to-Liquid Phase Transitions in Water

open access: yes, 2016
Glass-to-glass and liquid-to-liquid phase transitions were observed many years ago in bulk and confined water with or without applied pressure. It is shown that they result from the competition of two-liquid phases separated by an enthalpy difference depending on temperature.

Epilepsy‐Associated Variants of a Single SCN1A Codon Exhibit Divergent Functional Properties

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Pathogenic variants in SCN1A, which encodes the voltage‐gated sodium channel NaV1.1, are associated with multiple epilepsy syndromes exhibiting a range of clinical severity. SCN1A variants are reported in different syndromes, including Dravet syndrome, which is associated with loss‐of‐function, whereas neonatal/infantile‐onset ...

Quantitative evaluation of the improvement of B2O3 for the melting and fining process of high aluminium silicate glass batches under reduced atmospheric pressure

open access: yesJournal of Asian Ceramic Societies, 2021
The cover glass for thin-film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) panel is the high aluminum silicate glass. Compared with the conventional soda lime glass, its higher viscosity of glass liquid brought more difficulties in the melting and fining ...

What Do Large Language Models Know About Materials?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
If large language models (LLMs) are to be used inside the material discovery and engineering process, they must be benchmarked for the accurateness of intrinsic material knowledge. The current work introduces 1) a reasoning process through the processing–structure–property–performance chain and 2) a tool for benchmarking knowledge of LLMs concerning ...
