Europium(III) complexation behaviour in an alkyl ammonium ionic liquid medium containing neutral extractants

Separation and Purification Technology, 2019
An alkyl ammonium based ionic liquid, methyltributylammonium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide ([N1444][NTf2]), has been explored as a diluent and studied for the extraction of Eu(III) in conjunction with a couple of neutral extractants namely N,N,N′,N ...

Liquid medium for growth of Legionella pneumophila

Journal of Clinical Microbiology, 1980
The medium described is a simple yeast extract broth capable of growing large number of Legionella neumophila, the causative organism of Legionnaires disease. Filtration was chosen as a means of sterilization, since medium that was autoclaved did not support growth without the presence of Norite A.

Size-selected synthesis of metal nanoparticles by using electrospray in a liquid medium

Colloids and Surfaces A: Physicochemical and Engineering Aspects, 2019
Size selected synthesis of gold nanoparticle (AuNP) was carried out by use of an ultra-fine liquid droplet as a reaction field. The ultra-fine liquid droplets were generated by electrospraying in a liquid medium.

Enhanced CO2 reduction activity of polyethylene glycol-modified Au nanoparticles prepared via liquid medium sputtering

Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, 2018
The electrochemical conversion of CO2 into useful chemicals such as CO is a promising strategy to reduce CO2 emissions from fossil fuel consumption and to mitigate the impacts of global warming.

Microdroplet Deposition under a Liquid Medium

Langmuir, 2006
An experimental and numerical study of the factors affecting the reproducibility of microdroplet depositions performed under a liquid medium is presented. In the deposition procedure, sample solution is dispensed from the end of a capillary by the aid of a pressure pulse onto a substrate with pillar-shaped sample anchors.

Liquidity, Labels, and Medium-Term Notes

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2001
We suggest that the medium‐term note market provides an excellent laboratory for exploring the relationships between yield, liquidity, and the label affixed to a financial instrument. Crabbe and Turner (1995) examined the liquidity issue and uncovered the counter‐intuitive result that issue size is unrelated to liquidity.

A Liquid Medium for the Cultivation of Trypanosoma cruzi

Nature, 1954
MEDIA generally employed for the cultivation of haemoflagellates are either semi-solid or of the diphasic type (a solid base and a liquid overlay) containing blood or blood elements1,2. Thus they are complex both in chemical composition and in physical properties.

The Role of the Liquid Medium

1994
The liquid medium is the agent in which the particles are suspended and the chemical additives are dissolved. The structure and solubility of the chemical additives determine which part of the solute remains in the liquid and which part adsorbs onto the powder surfaces.

Liquid seeping into porous medium

Heat and Mass Transfer, 2001
A mathematical model is presented to describe the hydrodynamics behavior of liquid seeping into porous medium. The model takes into account the inertia and the evaporation effects. Analytical solution is obtained for the hydrodynamics behavior of the seeping process when the inertia effects are excluded and numerical solutions are obtained when these ...

Culture of Trichophyton verrucosum in a liquid medium

Mycoses, 2009
Summary The possibility of application of Sabourauds liquid medium for isolation and multiplication of Trichophyton verrucosum was investigated. It was found that the use of the liquid medium for isolation of the fungus from the infected material produced the growth of T. verrucosum within 9–11 days; the medium did not get dry during the cultivation
