Liquid metal–organic frameworks [PDF]

open access: yesNature Materials, 2017
Metal--organic frameworks (MOFs) are a family of chemically diverse materials, with applications in a wide range of fields covering engineering, physics, chemistry, biology and medicine. Research so far has focused almost entirely on crystalline structures, yet a clear trend has emerged shifting the emphasis onto disordered states of MOFs, including ...

Epsilon-negative media from the viewpoint of materials science

open access: yesEPJ Applied Metamaterials, 2021
A comprehensive review of the fundamentals and applications of epsilon-negative materials is presented in this paper. Percolative composites, as well as homogeneous ceramics or polymers, have been investigated to obtain the tailorable epsilon-negative ...

Corrosion and passivation behavior of FeCoCrNiNbx eutectic high-entropy alloys in H2SO4 solution

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2023
The bilayer structure passive films were formed on FeCoCrNiNbx alloy surfaces in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution. The inner film was denser and more protective.

Dependence of Solidification for Bi2Te3−xSex Alloys on Their Liquid States

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
The resistivity versus temperature (ρ-T) behaviours of liquid n-type Bi2Te3−x Se x (x = 0.3, 0.45 and 0.6) alloys are explored up to 1050 °C. A clear hump is observed on all ρ-T curves of the three studied Bi2Te3−x Se x melts during the heating process ...

Temperature-Induced Liquid-Liquid Transition in Metallic Melts: A Brief Review on the New Physical Phenomenon

open access: yesMetals, 2015
Understanding the nature of liquid structures and properties remains an open problem for many fundamental and applied fields. It is well known that there is no other defined phase line above liquidus (TL) in phase diagrams of ordinary alloys.

Change dynamic behaviors by heightening its stored energy of monolithic bulk metallic glass

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2019
Bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) are usually brittle, and show serious negative strain rate sensitivity upon dynamic loading due to no sufficient time for generation of the shear bands, which fatally limit their practical applications.

Controlling the oxidation and wettability of liquid metal via femtosecond laser for high-resolution flexible electronics

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2022
Liquid metal-based electronic devices are attracting increasing attention owing to their excellent flexibility and high conductivity. However, a simple way to realize liquid metal electronics on a microscale without photolithography is still challenging.

Diffusion in liquid metals

open access: yesAIChE Journal, 1967
AbstractMutual diffusion coefficients in dilute liquid metal solutions have been correlated by methods based upon absolute rate theory and the theory of corresponding states. Both correlations reproduce the experimental data to approximately ±25%, but the absolute rate theory method is simpler to use and is applicable to a larger number of systems.
