Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Liquidity risk and liquidity timing in the cross-section of Indian equity mutual fund returns
This study examines how aggregate market liquidity influences the cross-section of Indian equity mutual fund returns through two mechanisms: (1) funds’ long-run exposure to liquidity risk, and (2) managers’ time-varying liquidity timing.

THE IMPACT OF EXCESS LIQUIDITY ON MONETARY POLICY
This paper analyzes the excess liquidity especially on banking industry and its impact on monetary policy in Indonesia. We firstly investigate the determinants of bank behavior on their favor for excess liquidity both for precautionary motive and ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Physics of the Liquid-Liquid Critical Point [PDF]
Within the inherent structure (IS) thermodynamic formalism introduced by Stillinger and Weber [F. H. Stillinger and T. A. Weber, Phys. Rev. A {\bf 25}, 978 (1982)] we address the basic question of the physics of the liquid-liquid transition and of density maxima observed in some complex liquids such as water by identifying, for the first time, the ...

Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

We examine the effect of regulatory capital and ownership structure on banks’ liquidity creation in emerging Asian economies. We find a positive association between regulatory capital and bank liquidity creation, which is consistent with the risk ...

A liquid-triggered liquid microvalve
This work introduces a novel surface tension and geometry based liquid-triggered liquid microvalve for on-chip liquid control. The simultaneous presence of two liquid plugs at the uncomplicated valve junction triggers the further movement of the liquids and overcomes the stop valve function of the device, thereby providing a precise means of timing ...
