Formation of liriodendritol in Liriodendron tulipifera
Phytochemistry, 1988Abstract Incorporation studies with tulip tree leaves, Liriodendron tulipifera L., using labelled inositols show that the formation of liriodendritol starts in fully expanded adult leaves and d -ononitol functions as precursor. Bornesitol contained in these leaves was identified as d -bornesitol.

1998Liriodendron tulipifera pertenece a la familia de las Magnoliaceae y es conocida como tulipero. Su denomiación hace referencia a la semejanza de sus flores con los tulipanes. El género Liriodendron está formado solamente por dos especies, la americana y la china (Liriodendron chinensis), que es un árbol de pequeñas dimensiones.

1991The genus Liriodendron, a member of the family Magnolicaceae, has only two species: Liriodendron tulipifera L. (yellow-poplar, tulip poplar, tuliptree) of eastern North America and L. chinense (Hems’.) Sarg. (Chinese tuliptree), native to central mainland China.

New sesquiterpene lactones from Liriodendron tulipifera
Phytochemistry, 1975Abstract Four new sesquiterpene lactones were obtained from L. tulipifera ; two germacranolides, lipiferolide ( 4 ) and epitulipinolide diepoxide ( 5 ) from the leaves, an elemanolide, epitulipdienolide ( 7 ), and an eudesmanolide, γ-liriodenolide ( 6 ) from the root bark.
