New sesquiterpene lactones from Liriodendron tulipifera
Phytochemistry, 1975Abstract Four new sesquiterpene lactones were obtained from L. tulipifera ; two germacranolides, lipiferolide ( 4 ) and epitulipinolide diepoxide ( 5 ) from the leaves, an elemanolide, epitulipdienolide ( 7 ), and an eudesmanolide, γ-liriodenolide ( 6 ) from the root bark.

1998Liriodendron tulipifera pertenece a la familia de las Magnoliaceae y es conocida como tulipero. Su denomiación hace referencia a la semejanza de sus flores con los tulipanes. El género Liriodendron está formado solamente por dos especies, la americana y la china (Liriodendron chinensis), que es un árbol de pequeñas dimensiones.
