Stabilization of microtubules by lithium ion

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1976
Abstract Lithium ion, in concentrations of 0.2 – 1.0 mM, promotes tubulin polymerization, provided small concentrations of Mg ++ ion are present. This effect of lithium on polymerization, at suboptimal concentration of magnesium, is additive for the two metal ions.

Positronium–lithium-ion scattering

Physical Review A, 1992
The knowledge of scattering parameters for positronium\char21{}lithium-ion scattering is required when the positronium atom is used as a probe to study the surface properties of ionic crystals. Elastic para-para (ortho-ortho) and excitation (spin-flip) processes are studied using the first-order Born approximation.

Biology of the Lithium Ion

1980
Lithium is used effectively in the treatment of acute mania. During maintenance therapy, it reduces the frequency of manic-depressive episodes. Lithium has also recently been used in the treatment of several other pathologic conditions such as schizophrenia, alcoholism, aggression, tardive dyskinesia, and Huntington’s chorea; however, its therapeutic ...
