Tribological Properties of a Lithium-Calcium Grease
Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils, 2015The tribological properties of a lithium calcium complex grease based on calcium sulfonate complex and lithium complex greases are investigated. The tribological properties of the latter greases are compared using an Optimol SRV reciprocating friction and wear tester.

Continuous lithium and aluminum stearate grease manufacture
Oil & Soap, 19441. Lithium and aluminum greases can be made continuously by using heating, cooling, gelling and working stages in series. Votators can be used successfully for heating, cooling and working. The entire process from slurry to finished grease takes about 20 minutes, most of which time is in the gelling section.

Transient Shear Flow of Model Lithium Lubricating Greases
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2008This work deals with the analysis of the transient shear flow behaviour of lithium lubricating greases differing in soap concentration and base oil viscosity. The shear‐induced evolution of lithium grease microstructure has been studied by means of stress‐growth experiments.

Colloidal properties and microstructure of lithium greases
Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils, 19651. For lithium greases (pure lithium stearate — MVP oil, recooked TsIATIM-210 commercial grease, and the previously studied system of lithium stearate — nonpolar vaseline oil), the general nature of the variation in yield value and syneretic properties has been determined in relation to changes in the temperature schedule of cooling from isotropic ...

Thermoanalytical investigations on lithium stearate, lithium 12-hydroxystearate and related greases
Journal of Thermal Analysis, 1985TG and DSC techniques proved useful in the study of the thermal properties of lithium stearate, lithium 12-hydroxystearate and related greases. Under an inert atmosphere, the stearates decompose into the oxalate prior to the formation of the carbonate.

Antiwear and extreme-pressure properties of lithium greases
Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils, 19751. The antiwear properties of lithium greases without additives line up with those of the dispersion media, in the following order from poorest to best: PES-3 silicone, MS-6 mineral oil, DOS (dioctyl sebacate). 2. The replacement of lithium stearate by lithium soaps of synthetic fatty acids gives lithium greases with poorer antiwear ...

Tribological Investigation of Multilayer Graphene as Lithium Grease Additives
Science of Advanced Materials, 2020As an advanced antiwear and friction reducing material, graphene has been widely studied and applied in many fields. In this study, the tribological characteristics of lithium grease with multilayer graphene (MLG) additive were studied on a four-ball tester.

Ageing Evaluation of No.2 Lithium Lubricating Grease
Advanced Materials Research, 2013Contamination, acid number, moisture, thickness and dropping point are summarized as ageing indexes of lubricating grease. Size distribution, composition and weight of contamination which influence lubricating performance most and are used to evaluate performance of lubricating grease broadly in No.2 lithium lubricating grease which is used in main ...

Processing and Formulation of Lithium Lubricating Greases
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2006The effects that soap concentration, base oil viscosity and additives exert on the rheology of lubricating greases have been studied. Also, changes in both microstructure and rheology of lithium lubricating greases during their manufacturing process have been evaluated.

Role of alkali in forming structure of lithium greases
Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils, 1985The present work has been aimed at studying the influence of the high-temperature holding time ("hot-soak" time) and the melt cooling conditions on the individual stages of grease structure formation, depending on the content of alkali. In preparing the greases we used LiSt obtained in grease manufacture by neutralizing the calculated quantities of HSt
