Revised lithostratigraphy of the Mesozoic-Cenozoic succession of the onshore Rovuma Basin, northern coastal Mozambique [PDF]
A revised formal lithostratigraphy for the Mesozoic-Cenozoic succession of the onshore portion of the Rovuma Basin in northern Mozambique replaces a previous mixture of informal lithostratigraphical and biostratigraphical names. The new lithostratigraphy

ABSTRACT This paper examines regional and chronological variations in Acheulean handaxe morphology during Marine Isotope Stage 11 (c. 425–365 ka BP) in Britain. Using a data set of 737 handaxes from 13 securely dated sites in East Anglia and the Thames Valley, we apply three‐dimensional geometric morphometric analysis to examine morphological ...

In the NE edge of the Paraná Continental Magmatic Province (PCMP), compound pahoehoe, simple pahoehoe, rubbly flows, pillow lava, and simple pahoehoe/pyroclastic flows linked to ring structures with lithofacies associations have been identified.

Abstract In subduction zones, the locked seismogenic zone is bordered by an upper and a lower transition zone. In these transition zones, deformation is primarily accommodated by an interplay of diffuse viscous deformation within a weak matrix and brittle deformation in stiffer bands and blocks.

Abstract Micrometric phyllosilicate films along fault slip surfaces (SSs) can drastically reduce friction, yet they are unexpected in clay‐poor carbonate platforms. We inquire how a major carbonate‐hosted, seismogenic strike‐slip fault can develop weak slip interfaces and undergo dynamic weakening despite an intrinsically strong host rock.

The study of heavy mineral assemblages with statistical analysis resolves provenance signatures and quantifies syn‐emplacement modification of sand injection complexes. Results demonstrate transformative petrological processes, including density‐dependent hydraulic sorting and mechanical grain degradation.

Pre-Devensian lithostratigraphy of shallow marine, fluvial and glacial sediments in northern East Anglia [PDF]
Historically, a wide range of stratigraphical approaches have been applied to examining the Early and Middle Pleistocene succession of northern East Anglia including conventional biostratigraphy and lithostratigraphy (Boswell, 1916; Banham, 1968; Perrin ...
