Boundaries Within the Paepalanthus chiquitensis Species Complex (Eriocaulaceae)

open access: yesFeddes Repertorium, Volume 137, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Four morphotypes with associated names are presented toward a more reliable circumscription of Paepalanthus chiquitensis. Morphotype I, associated with the names P. chiquitensis, P. speciosus var. bolivianus, and P. amoenus var. bolivianus, is restricted to savannas of Bolivia and western Brazil.

Aspergillus conicus Endophyte Improves the Development of Eucalyptus camaldulensis Seedlings In Vitro

open access: yesJournal of Basic Microbiology, Volume 66, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Fungi of the genus Aspergillus promote plant growth and resistance, enhance nutrient uptake, protect plants against pathogens, and increase tolerance to environmental stress. We examined the symbiosis between Aspergillus conicus and seedlings of Eucalyptus camaldulensis, a forest species widely grown in Brazil for its valuable wood and ...

Unraveling the effects of wet and dry areas on carbon emissions in an intermittent Mediterranean stream

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography, Volume 71, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Stream hydrological regimes are increasingly altered by water extraction, land‐use change, and climate change, leading to prolonged streambed desiccation in many regions. These alterations significantly impact biogeochemical processes within stream networks.

Intermediate Western Boundary Current speeds from the southeastern Brazilian margin: A 16,000‐year record from grain‐size evidence

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography Letters, Volume 11, Issue 2, March 2026.
Abstract This study presents a high‐resolution reconstruction of the Antarctic Intermediate Water (AAIW) transport variability on the southeastern Brazilian continental margin over the last 16,000 years BP, based on grain‐size analysis. Variations of sortable silt (SS¯$$ \overline{SS} $$) are interpreted as changes in flow speed of the Intermediate ...
