This study provides a translational approach for linking neural activity to tactile deficits in autism. By combining psychophysics with cortical recordings in a mouse model of autism, we show that low signal‐to‐noise ratio in somatosensory neurons weakens population encoding of fine touch, impairing detection, decoding, and leading to perceptual ...

Global Nitrogen Deposition Promotes Carbon Sink Formation in Terrestrial Ecosystems
Nitrogen deposition alleviates ecosystem N limitation and enhances carbon sinks. Using 829 observations, we show 36% of deposited N is retained globally (39.15 Tg N yr−1), with distinct NHx and NOy contributions. This retention drives a terrestrial C sink of 0.88 Pg C yr−1 (25.48%), highlighting the importance of pool‐specific C:N stoichiometry ...

Compost and fertilizer mineralization effects on soil and harvest in parkland agroforestry systems in the south-Sudanese zone of Burkina Faso [PDF]
Decomposition of, and the subsequent nutrient release from tree leaf litter as well as external inputs of nutrients are important in the traditional agroforestry parklands of West Africa. The management of nutrient resources is essential to optimize crop

PSMA8‐Containing 20S Proteasome Regulates Spermiogenesis and Male Fertility
PSMA8 assembles s20S proteasome that degrades specific substrates in elongating spermatids. Degradation of s20S‐substrates activates translation of FXR1‐target mRNAs, which are essential for mitochondrial sheath formation and sperm morphogenesis.

Impaired endometrial receptivity contributes to the poor pregnancy outcomes in women with PCOS. The authors found that decreased endometrial IL‐22 levels and disrupted STAT3‐IGFBP5 signaling pathway contributed to impaired endometrial receptivity. Supplementation with IL‐22 or IGFBP5 exerts a protective effect on implantation failure in PCOS‐like mice,

Mixing effects of understory plant litter on decomposition and nutrient release of tree litter in two plantations in Northeast China. [PDF]
Understory vegetation plays a crucial role in carbon and nutrient cycling in forest ecosystems; however, it is not clear how understory species affect tree litter decomposition and nutrient dynamics.

Differential influence of four invasive plant species on soil physicochemical properties in a pot experiment [PDF]
Purpose This study compared the effects of four invasive plants, namely Impatiens glandulifera, Reynoutria japonica, Rudbeckia laciniata, and Solidago gigantea, as well as two native species-Artemisia vulgaris, Phalaris arundinacea, and their mixture on

An activity‐dependent pathway links prefrontal circuit hypoactivity to cognitive impairment. Reduced PVA–mPFC activity upregulates NEPAS, which suppresses PTX3 secretion, leading to impaired angiogenesis, myelin deficits, and memory decline. Rescue is achieved by NEPAS knockdown or chemogenetic circuit activation.
