Opioid Toxicity Following Concomitant Use of Macrolide Antibiotics with Fentanyl, Hydromorphone, or Oxycodone: A Population‐Based Study

Fentanyl, hydromorphone, and oxycodone are metabolized by cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4). Co‐administration with CYP3A4‐inhibiting macrolides (clarithromycin or erythromycin) may increase opioid concentrations and overdose risk, but the clinical impact of these interactions is unknown.

An investigation was conducted of the influence of portacaval transposition upon carbohydrate metabolism in 45 dogs. In 17 dogs, hepatic glycogen content was measured before and from 45 to 75 days after transposition.

Cardiovascular toxicity induced by TKIs in patients with chronic myeloid leukaemia: Are women and men different?

This study analyzes 148 patients (66 women and 82 men) with chronic myeloid leukemia treated with tyrosine kinase inhibitors, focusing on cardiovascular adverse events. The risk assessment, performed using the HFA/ICOS score, reveals sex‐specific differences: venous thrombosis is more common in women, while arterial thrombosis predominates in men.
