NKG2D Enhances Double-Negative T Cell Regulation of B Cells

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2021
Numerous studies reported a small subpopulation of TCRαβ+CD4-CD8- (double-negative) T cells that exert regulatory functions in the peripheral lymphocyte population. However, the origin of these double-negative T (DNT) cells is controversial.

Survival COVID-19 in Adult Patients with Liver Cirrhosis

open access: yesThe Indonesian Journal of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Digestive Endoscopy, 2021
Background: COVID-19 is a disease caused by infection of SARS-CoV-2 virus which leads to mortality due to respiratory failure. The progression of COVID-19 is more severe in patients with pre-existence morbidities, including liver disease. Recently, a few

Fusogenic RNA Nanomodules for Fusion‐Mediated and Multiplexed siRNA Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fusogenic lipid‐layered RNA nanomodules (L‐CRAMs) enable high‐capacity and long‐lasting siRNA delivery through membrane fusion. These nanomodules carry exceptionally large siRNA payloads, avoid conventional endosomal uptake, and release multiple functional siRNAs through Dicer‐mediated processing.

Hemostatic Abnormalities in Patient with Liver Cirrhosis: A Review

open access: yesJurnal Kedokteran Diponegoro, 2022
Liver cirrhosis is one of Indonesia’s most common liver diseases, where the incidence is 38 – 52.8% of all liver diseases. Liver cirrhosis refers to a late-stage pathological lesion caused by the accumulation of extracellular matrix in the liver ...

LC3B Mediated SETDB1‐Accounted Alcoholic Steatohepatitis via Lipidation‐Dependent LAP and Lipidation‐Independent Nuclear Stabilization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SETDB1 is progressively downregulated in ALD, correlating with disease severity. SETDB1 deficiency impairs LAP by disrupting Rubicon membrane localization, leading to defective lipid droplet clearance. Concurrently, loss of SETDB1 reduces nuclear LC3B, causing R‐loop accumulation and cGAS‐STING‐driven inflammation. Lipidated LC3B mediates LAP‐dependent

Engineering Approaches to Modify Immunomodulatory Functions of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (MSCs): Tissue Regeneration and Clinical Application

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) show promise for treating immune‐related disorders through immunomodulation and tissue regeneration. This review gives a brief overview of current clinical approval of MSC therapies. It also discussed how bioengineering, including genetic modification, biomaterial delivery, extracellular vesicles, and iPSC‐derived MSCs,

Gut microbiota–derived short‐chain fatty acids regulate group 3 innate lymphoid cells in HCC

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract Background and Aims Type 3 innate lymphoid cells (ILC3s) are essential for host defense against infection and tissue homeostasis. However, their role in the development of HCC has not been adequately confirmed. In this study, we investigated the immunomodulatory role of short‐chain fatty acids (SCFAs) derived from intestinal microbiota in ILC3

ON THE TREATMENT OF CIRRHOSIS OF THE LIVER. [PDF]

open access: yesJAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1901
Cirrhosis of the liver—often called alcoholic cirrhosis —is seen under the following circumstances: 1, without symptoms, the patient having died from other causes; 2, without symptoms until a climax is reached in the sudden outbreak of gastric or intestinal hemorrhage, terminating the life of the patient; 3, with symptoms due to obstruction of the ...
