Liver neoplasms and the oral contraceptives
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1977For sixteen years (1954 to 1970) oral steroids had been used for contraception by millions of women. We were unable in this time span to find any cases of liver neoplasms in women using oral contraceptives. However, since 1970, there have been 138 cases reported in the English literature. We will add nine cases to this number, including an unusual case

The organochlorine pesticides chlordane and heptachlor were demonstrated to be liver neoplasm promoters in mice. Male B6C3F1 mice exposed to diethylnitrosamine (DEN) for 14 weeks followed by 25 weeks on control diet developed a 40% incidence of liver ...

Primary liver neoplasms: MR imaging with pathologic correlation.
Radiographics, 1994Magnetic resonance (MR) imaging is a powerful tool in the evaluation of primary liver neoplasms. Determination of tumor extent and tissue characterization is provided with standard spin-echo T1- and T2-weighted imaging and is enhanced by the application ...

Management of Mucinous Cystic Neoplasms of the Liver
Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery, 2023Mucinous cystic neoplasms of the liver (MCN-L) including biliary cystadenomas (BCA) and biliary cystadenocarcinomas (BCAC) are rare cystic lesions that comprise less than 5% of all liver cysts and affect only a small subset of individuals. We herein review the current evidence regarding the clinical presentation, imaging characteristics, tumor markers,

CT differentiation of mucin-producing cystic neoplasms of the liver from solitary bile duct cysts.
AJR. American journal of roentgenology, 2014OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to identify the CT features required for differentiating mucin-producing cystic neoplasms of the liver (mucinous cystic neoplasms and cyst-forming intraductal papillary neoplasms of the bile duct) from solitary ...

Liver neoplasms: diagnostic pitfalls in cross-sectional imaging.
Radiographics, 1996The appearances of most common liver neoplasms at computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging have been established. However, there are considerable overlaps in the appearances of various pathologic entities.

Liver Biopsy for the Diagnosis of Liver Neoplasms
2017Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common primary malignant neoplasm of the liver. Approximately 90% of these tumors arise in the background of cirrhosis secondary to an underlying liver disease, such as infection with hepatitis B or C virus, alcoholic liver disease, nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, or autoimmune hepatitis.

Intraductal oncocytic papillary neoplasm of the liver
Pathology International, 2004A very rare case of intraductal oncocytic papillary carcinoma of the liver is reported. A 63‐year‐old Japanese man was admitted to our clinic because of abdominal pain and jaundice. Imaging techniques revealed a unilocular cystic neoplasm of 14 cm diameter in the medial segment of the left hepatic lobe.
