Research Progress on Efficient Aerobic Composting Technology for Livestock and Poultry Manure
This paper systematically reviews the challenges faced by aerobic composting in pollution reduction and carbon emission mitigation, including the control of heavy metal contamination, antibiotic residue, estrogen, microplastics, and the reduction of environmentally impactful gases (including greenhouse gases).

Empowering practitioners working at the agriculture–conservation interface
Conservation practitioners work at the critical intersection between agricultural decision makers and conservation adoption. However, they often lack first‐hand experience or training in agricultural decision making. We designed and evaluated an intensive professional development program to help conservation practitioners grow key competencies in ...

Incorporating Environmentally Compliant Manure Nutrient Disposal Costs into Least-Cost Livestock Ration Formulation [PDF]
Livestock rations are formulated to minimize feed cost subject to nutritional requirements for a target performance level, which ignores the potentially substantial cost of disposing of nutrients fed in excess of nutritional requirements.

We simultaneously analysed insecticide resistance mutations in VGSC and AChE using NGS and hybridization probe capture in houseflies collected from livestock facilities for the first time. Resistance mutations in both VGSC and AChE were detected in most wild populations, suggesting widespread distribution of resistance genes.

ECONOMIC RETURNS FROM REDUCING POULTRY LITTER PHOSPHORUS WITH MICROBIAL PHYTASE [PDF]
Requiring that crop applications of manure be based on phosphorus content (P-standard) could increase poultry litter disposal costs. Microbial phytase reduces litter P content and could reduce litter disposal costs under a P-standard.

Source identification and quantification of particulate matter emitted from livestock houses [PDF]
There is need to identify and quantify the contribution of different sources to airborne particulate matter (PM) emissions from animal houses. To this end, we compared the chemical and morphological characteristics of fine and coarse PM from known ...

Animal Segregation: The Biopolitics of Concentrated Pig Farming
Abstract This paper explores the possibility to think through the concept of animal segregation to understand the more‐than‐human geographies of livestock animals. By redirecting the analytical tools for studying the spatial separation of humans to the segregation of animals, this paper contributes to understanding the geographical processes of ...
