Deep Learning Methods for Assessing Time‐Variant Nonlinear Signatures in Clutter Echoes

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 8, Issue 4, April 2026.
Motion classification from biosonar echoes in clutter presents a fundamental challenge: extracting structured information from stochastic interference. Deep learning successfully discriminates object speed and direction from bat‐inspired signals, achieving 97% accuracy with frequency‐modulated calls but only 48% with constant‐frequency tones. Tumor‐Intrinsic Forkhead Box A2 Regulates the Lymph Node Metastasis of Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma by Regulating T‐Cell Apoptosis

open access: yesiLABMED, Volume 4, Issue 1, Page 5-17, March 2026.
We identified FOXA2 as a key regulator of lymph node metastasis in thyroid cancer, which controls cancer cell aggressiveness. FOXA2 knockdown promotes metastasis by enhancing tumor cell migration and, importantly, by inducing T‐cell apoptosis through a CCL2/LCN2‐mediated pathway. Created with BioGDP.com.

Heat Transfer in Nuclear Waste Glasses: Measurements and Modeling of Thermal Radiation Properties

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT We measured and modeled near‐infrared extinction of nuclear waste glasses from 300°C to 1150°C to enable predictive radiation heat transfer and thermal conductivity estimates. A composition‐ and redox‐informed model resolved contributions from key chromophores (Fe+2‐O‐Fe+3, V+4, free and bonded ≡Si‐OH groups) and, when present, spinel ...

Antimicrobial Effect of Ultraviolet C (UV‐C) Light Compared to Standard Povidone‐Iodine Protocol for Preoperative Disinfection of the Periocular Area

open access: yesVeterinary Ophthalmology, Volume 29, Issue 2, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the antimicrobial effect of 275 nm wavelength ultraviolet C (UV‐C) light on the periocular area of canine eyes for preoperative disinfection compared to standard 10% povidone‐iodine (PI) solution preparation. Methods The upper and lower eyelids of six research‐bred beagles were equally divided into two sections (medial ...
