The French part of the Flemish coastal plain, Southern North Sea, has estuaries that vanished in the Middle Age through progressive embankment. Surface geophysics and cores show increased sand/mud partitioning during land reclamation, with channels becoming mud‐filled while emerging flats remained sandy.
