Animal Behaviour, 1971Abstract Oestrus was checked twice daily on nineteen females divided into three pens using two to four males per pen simultaneously from 10 January to 12 May. A period of constant oestrus of at least 30-days duration was found in many females beginning at the first introduction of the male.
