On the LME susceptibility of Si enriched steels

Journal of Nuclear Materials, 2012
Abstract The addition of silicon to steels has been found to strongly increase the material’s resistance to corrosion in liquid lead–bismuth eutectic environment; however the mechanical properties of ferritic–martensitic elevated silicon steels are also strongly affected by the liquid metal environment.

UNIDO and LMEs: A commentary

Environmental Development, 2016
Abstract The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is the United Nations Specialized Agency with the mandate to promote Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development. Through promoting ISID, Green Industries and the Transfer of Environmentally Sound Technologies (TEST) UNIDO contributes substantially towards the recovery and ...

The LME project: legislative metadata based on semantic formal models

International Journal of Metadata, Semantics and Ontologies, 2009
The Law Making Environment (LME) system for planning, drafting and managing legislative sources is made up of editing and search support tools. To handle the sematics of legislative sources, two interacting models have been created: a rule model, which can describe the illocutionary profile of legislative texts through metadata, and a lightweight ...

LME SSD

Proceedings of the 2020 the 4th International Conference on Innovation in Artificial Intelligence, 2020
For a long time, the accuracy of the object detection methods has been continuously improved, but the computational cost and resource occupation have not received enough attention. In recent years, with the development of some excellent lightweight object detection methods for compressing model parameters and computational quantities, the object ...

The Universal LME

2008
In the literature of the firm there has been a tendency towards polarization in the discussion. Typically, in the early writing the large corporation was considered the archetype to which all lesser firms should ideally aspire in their conduct of business, while from the 1980s especially, this assumption has been met with a counterthrust pointing to ...

LME induced failure of a combat aircraft gun

Engineering Failure Analysis, 2008
Abstract Premature catastrophic failures of gun barrel casings of a combat aircraft were reported. Magnetic particle fluorescent (MPF) and die penetrant inspections of in-service casings indicated cracks in various locations. Further investigations unveiled them to be multiple initiation fatigue cracks.

The Stylized LME

2008
Writing one 100 or so years ago, economist Alfred Marshall opined that Adam Smith and many of the other earlier economists sacrificed precision to the interests of seeming simplicity. They did this by employing a conversational style of writing in an attempt to explain matters which were in fact of daunting complexity.

Critical LME elongation: a criterion measured with Gleeble correlated to LME sensitivity during spot welding

Metallurgical Research & Technology
Liquid metal embrittlement may appear on multiphase high strength galvanized steels during the spot-welding process. The aim of this paper is to describe a high temperature tensile test, performed with a Gleeble machine, to evaluate the LME sensitivity of a given coated steel in conditions similar to spot welding (time cycle).

Comparative productivity and biomass yields of the Guinea Current LME

Environmental Development, 2016
Abstract Plankton production patterns in the Guinea Current Large Marine Ecosystem (GCLME) were investigated using data obtained from Continuous Plankton Recorder (CPR) tows carried out in the GLCME, from December 1995 to November 1999. Four CPR routes were established between Cote d'Ivoire and Cameroon as part of the pilot phase of the GCLME project,

A linear mixed effect (LME) model for soil water content estimation based on geophysical sensing: a comparison of an LME model and kriging with external drift

Environmental Earth Sciences, 2014
Soil water content (SWC) is a critical attribute in Precision Irrigation. Direct measurements are costly and relative sparse, so there is interest in methods to predict SWC at unsampled sites from sampled data. The precision of such predictions can be improved, if covariates are incorporated into the predictor.
