Multimodal Image Guidance in Subthalamic Deep Brain Stimulation for Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Accurate electrode placement and individual stimulation parameters influence the outcomes of subthalamic deep brain stimulation in Parkinson's disease. Neuroimaging‐based models can help evaluate how electrode placement impacts improvement, aiming to reduce the burden of programming.

Advantage of make-to-stock strategy based on linear mixed-effect model: a comparison with regression, autoregressive, times series, and exponential smoothing models

open access: yesCroatian Operational Research Review, 2017
In the past few decades, demand forecasting has become relatively difficult due to rapid changes in the global environment. This research illustrates the use of the make-to-stock (MTS) production strategy in order to explain how forecasting plays an ...

The influence of rivers on seabird foraging ecology

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Rivers act as vital arteries to the world's oceans, delivering fresh water and nutrients that sustain marine ecosystems. Globally, river flow increasingly is being altered by climate change and anthropogenic pressures; yet the significance of rivers to predatory marine species, such as seabirds, and the extent to which river‐related changes ...

Methyl on the Bridge: 2‐Methyl Propellane as Precursor for 1,3‐Substituted 2‐Methylated Bicyclo[1.1.1]Pentanes

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The synthesis of 2‐methyl propellane and its conversion to various 1,2‐ and 1,2,3‐di‐ and trisubstituted bicyclopentanes is reported. Abstract Bicyclo[1.1.1]pentanes (BCPs) have emerged as isosteric replacements for mono‐ and para‐substituted benzene rings in medicinal and materials applications, involving substitution at the BCP bridgehead (1,3 ...

Entanglement of $π$-LME states and the SAT problem

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper we investigate the entanglement properties of the class of $π$-locally maximally entanglable ($π$-LME) states, which are also known as the "real equally weighted states" or the "hypergraph states". The $π$-LME states comprise well-studied classes of quantum states (e.g. graph states) and exhibit a large degree of symmetry.

Feeling Better Before, Not After: An Ecological Momentary Assessment of Affect Around Exercise in Women With Eating Disorders

open access: yesInternational Journal of Eating Disorders, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Maladaptive exercise includes excessive, compulsive, or compensatory exercise and is a common eating‐disorder (ED) symptom associated with increased severity, slower rates‐of‐recovery, and faster rates‐of‐relapse. Affect‐regulation theories posit that maladaptive exercise functions to reduce high negative affect (NA), although ...
