Diversity of Pharmaceuticals Enhances Antibiotic Resistance in the Invertebrate Gut via Biofilm‐Mediated Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pharmaceutical diversity acts as an independent driver of antibiotic resistance in soil invertebrates. While bulk soil remains unaffected, the collembolan gut microbiome exhibits significant resistance gene enrichment under complex chemical exposure and diurnal warming.

The Precompression Processing of LMS Algorithm in Noise Elimination

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2019
In this study, the authors propose a novel precompression processing (PCP) of the least mean squares (LMS) algorithm based on a regulator factor. The novelty of the PCP algorithm is that the compressed input signals vary from each other on different ...

Proposed Hybrid Sparse Adaptive Algorithms for System Identification

open access: yesAl-Khawarizmi Engineering Journal, 2017
For sparse system identification, recent suggested algorithms are  -norm Least Mean Square (  -LMS), Zero-Attracting LMS (ZA-LMS), Reweighted Zero-Attracting LMS (RZA-LMS), and p-norm LMS (p-LMS) algorithms, that have modified the cost function of the ...

Activation of ERBB4 Pathway Inhibits Pathological Transdifferentiation of Lung Epithelial Progenitors into CD66c+ Basal Cells in Severe Lung Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In fibrotic distal lung regions, CD66c+ basal cells emerge as a pathological state. Using human distal lung organoids, this study identifies CD66c+ basal cells as a pro‐fibrotic state arising through transdifferentiation from secretory, AT2, and basal cells.

O‐GlcNAcylated TAP1 Impairs Antigen Presentation and Promotes Immune Evasion in Bladder Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This article unveils a critical mechanism of immune evasion in bladder cancer, which the O‐GlcNAc modification of TAP1 disrupts antigen presentation. This modification triggers HLA‐A degradation, shielding tumor cells from CD8+ T cell attack. The findings highlight targeting this pathway as a promising therapeutic avenue to sensitize tumors to ...

HNRNPD Induces Radioresistance in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma by Sequestering GRAMD4 mRNA in Stress Granules

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
HNRNPD promotes radioresistance in nasopharyngeal carcinoma by enhancing stress granule assembly and sequestering GRAMD4 mRNA. This suppresses GRAMD4 translation and inhibits mitochondrial apoptosis. Targeting the integrated stress response with ISRIB restores GRAMD4 expression and sensitizes tumors to radiotherapy, revealing a translational control ...

A wavelet based partial update fast LMS/Newton algorithm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This paper studies a wavelet based partial update fast LMS/Newton algorithm. Different from the conventional fast LMS/Newton algorithm, the proposed algorithm first uses a shorter-order, partial Haar transform-based NLMS adaptive filter to estimate the ...
