Model Predictive Load-Frequency Control
IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2016A model predictive controller (MPC) for load frequency control (LFC) of an interconnected power system is investigated. The MPC is based on a simplified system model of the Nordic power system, and it takes into account limitations on tie-line power flow, generation capacity, and generation rate of change.

Interconnected system load-frequency control
Electrical Engineering, 1949IF ALL TIE LINES were of ample capacity and stations under automatic control were well distributed geographically, there would be no need for tie line control except where required by contract interchange schedules. With the large scale advent of system interconnections and the necessity for more efficient operation, the tendency is to use frequency ...

Estimation and Prediction in Load frequency Control
2007 International Conference on Power Engineering, Energy and Electrical Drives, 2007Many controllers designed for load-frequency control (LFC) in power system are based on the knowledge of system state, which is generally not measured. This paper presents a method for estimation of disturbance and system state in LFC. In power systems, measurement signals and control signals are transmitted over long distances between controller and ...

[Proceedings 1992] The First IEEE Conference on Control Applications, 2003
A technique for the control of frequency deviation in interconnected power systems is introduced. The technique is based on the application of linear feedback H-infinity robust controllers in the power system model. The controller response should be fast enough to offset the frequency errors due to load variations.

Review of Various Load Frequency Controllers
2021In a power system, various fluctuations can occur in voltage and frequency due to the disturbances and sudden changes in the load (due to load change or fault). Whenever there is a change in the load, voltage and frequency get affected/disturbed. Voltage regulator is designed to compensate the voltage fluctuations and to compensate or maintain the ...

Load frequency control using ANN-PID controller
2016 IEEE 1st International Conference on Power Electronics, Intelligent Control and Energy Systems (ICPEICES), 2016A control scheme of ANN based proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller is developed here to maintain the system frequency at nominal value. Due to some complication of modern industrial system, the conventional PID controller is not capable to meet our requirement.

Load frequency control using polar fuzzy controller
TENCON 2010 - 2010 IEEE Region 10 Conference, 2010Load frequency control has always been a promising field for researchers over the past couple of decades. When load perturbations takes place anywhere in any area of the system, it will affect the frequencies of other areas too. In the recent years, the soft computing techniques such as artificial neural network (ANN), Fuzzy systems and evolutionary ...

An Adaptive Controller for Power System Load-Frequency Control
IEEE Power Engineering Review, 1989An adaptive controller is presented for load-frequency control of power systems. It uses a PI (proportional-integral) adaptation to satisfy the hyperstability condition for taking care of the parameter changes of the system. Only the available information on the states and output are required for the control.

LOAD-FREQUENCY CONTROL WITH SHORT-TERM LOAD PREDICTION
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1987Abstract This paper presents a LFC algorithm based on very short-term load prediction. The application of high order difference ARI(p.d) model fitting random load time series to the on - line very short - term load prediction is described. Linear combination of load disturbance prediction and frequency deviation are used as input signal of LFC.
