Optimal Decentralized Load Frequency Control

IEEE Power Engineering Review, 1987
The paper presents a novel methodology for feasibility analysis and design of optimal decentralized load frequency control for multi-area interconnected electric power systems. Feasibility of the proposed decentralized control scheme is determined with a fixed mode evaluation algorithm based on eigenvalue dynamics.

Efficient fuzzy logic load–frequency controller

Energy Conversion and Management, 2002
Abstract This paper investigates an application of the fuzzy logic technique for designing the load–frequency control system to damp the frequency and tie line power oscillations due to different load disturbances. The proposed fuzzy load–frequency controller, called a two layered fuzzy controller, consists of two layers.

Adaptive Policy for Load Frequency Control

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2018
Till date, various load frequency control (LFC) schemes have been reported and every scheme has its own way of disturbance rejection capability. Utilizing some of them together may bring improved performance. Keeping this fact in mind, an adaptive control policy is proposed in this letter.

Bilateral based robust load frequency control

Energy Conversion and Management, 2005
Abstract Load frequency control (LFC) has been one of the major subjects in electric power system design/operation and is becoming much more significant today in accordance with increasing size and the changing structure and complexity of interconnected power systems.

Regulation Error in Load Frequency Control

IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1980
This paper presents a discussion of regulation error in the load frequency control of a power system. It suggests that good control of a power syspm is more dependent on system constraints and human decisions than on the design of the present day load frequency controller.

Load frequency control using BAT algorithm

2016 IEEE 1st International Conference on Power Electronics, Intelligent Control and Energy Systems (ICPEICES), 2016
In this paper a metaheuristic optimization technique known as BAT algorithm is used for optimal tuning of controller parameters for obtaining the optimal performance of the load frequency control. This optimization algorithm is inspired by the echolocation behavior of natural bats.

Design of Fractional Load Frequency Controller

2012 International Conference on Control Engineering and Communication Technology, 2012
To improve the robustness and the dynamic response of the load-frequency controller in power systems, based on particle swarm optimization algorithm, the design method for fractional PID (proportional integral differential) controller is proposed, Simulation results showed that the fractional order controller had reduced the settling time and overshoot

Wavelet neural network load frequency controller

Energy Conversion and Management, 2005
This paper presents the feasibility of applying a wavelet neural network (WNN) approach for the load frequency controller (LFC) to damp the frequency oscillations of two area power systems due to load disturbances. The present intelligent control system trained the wavelet neural network (WNN) controller on line with adaptive learning rates, which are ...

Load frequency control incorporating time delay

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1987
This letter discusses a load frequency control scheme incorporating the computation delay time in the control law. When there is a computation delay in determining feedback gains, the incorporation of the time delay is necessary for the improvement of dynamic responses. The influences of the delay time on the responses are investigated using a two-area

A Load-Frequency Fuzzy Control

1995
The paper will demosntrate fuzzy control application to automatic load-frequency control in electric power systems. Several fuzzy algorithms will be analysed as well as algorithms with different feature and arrangement of membership functions, inference mechanism and defuzzy methods.
