The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

OPTIMAL OPERATION OF ELECTRICAL POWER GENERATORS FOR OIL WELLS OPERATED BY ARTIFICIAL LIFTING AT RUMILA FIELD

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Проблемы энергетики, 2019
Numerous oil wells within Rumaila field contain Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESPs). ESPs are utilised to maximise the oil production from existing wells by providing artificial lift where pressure is low, which helps maintain oil production levels.

Carbon Nanotube Based Delay Model For High Speed Energy Efficient on Chip Data Transmission Using: Current Mode Technique

open access: yes, 2014
Speed is a major concern for high density VLSI networks. In this paper the closed form delay model for current mode signalling in VLSI interconnects has been proposed with resistive load termination. RLC interconnect line is modelled using characteristic

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

The effect of broken stringers on the stress intensity factor for a uniformly stiffened sheet containing a crack [PDF]

open access: yes
A linear elastic stress analysis was made of a centrally cracked sheet stiffened by riveted, uniformly spaced and sized stringers. The stress intensity factor for the sheet and the load concentration factor for the most highly loaded stringer were ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Improving urban bus emission and fuel consumption modeling by incorporating passenger load factor for real world driving

open access: yes, 2016
Vehicle Specific Power (VSP) has been increasingly used as a good indicator for the instantaneous power demand on engines for real world driving in the field of vehicle emission and fuel consumption modeling.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Investigation of Dynamic Loading Software on an Aircraft's Wing and Horizental Tail, by Elevator Deflection [PDF]

open access: yesفناوری در مهندسی هوافضا, 2019
In this research, a dynamic simulator software has been designed to calculate the time varying load factor acting on an aircraft wing and on a horizontal tail relation to elevator deflection angle.
