Load Flow Analysis with Voltage-Sensitive Loads
2008 Joint International Conference on Power System Technology and IEEE Power India Conference, 2008This paper conducts load-flow analysis of a five-bus test system containing voltage sensitive loads. Generalized equations that are suitable for the voltage sensitive loads and applicable to the Newton-Raphson method are developed. Three load flow studies are carried out. In the first study, all loads are assumed as constant power loads.

Parameterizations of the load-flow equations for eliminating ill-conditioning load flow solutions
IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1993Given a nonlinear system of equations with or without varying parameters, the authors present a technique to solve the convergence problem at singular or near-singular roots of the system. A theoretical basis stemming from bifurcation theory for the proposed technique is given.

In an automated distribution system, several tasks, such as network reconfiguration (for loss reduction, load balancing, service restoration), volt-var control, etc., are undertaken regularly to improve the performance of the system. Further, these tasks should be accomplished without violating any system constraints such as bus voltage magnitudes ...

Parallel Computing of Load Flow Analysis
Proceedings of the Second International Conference on Information and Communication Technology for Competitive Strategies, 2016This paper presents a simple and an efficient approach for load flow analysis of a radial distribution network by using parallel computation. By introducing CUDA (Computationally Unified Device Architecture), a platform is provided for performing the parallel implementation of the analysis. The analysis starts by determining the order of the nodes ...

Autonomic load balancing of flow monitors
Computer Networks, 2013In monitoring flows at routers for flow analysis or deep packet inspection, the monitor calculates hash values from the flow ID of each packet arriving at the input port of the router. Therefore, the monitors must update the flow table at the transmission line rate, so high-speed and high-cost memory, such as SRAM, is used for the flow table.

The load flow is one of the most fundamental concepts in power system engineering. The basic function of the AVC system is to find out a feasible load flow in the grid, where the voltage profile of the whole system is within the acceptable operational band.

Unbalanced Multiphase Load-Flow Using a Positive-Sequence Load-Flow Program
IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2008Existing commercial load-flow packages have the capability of solving large balanced transmission systems using little computer memory and processing time. Their computation efficiency overcomes the small imprecision caused by the modeling simplifications and assumptions made in both transmission and distributions simulation packages.

In conventional load flow formulation, static load flow equations are set up in terms of nodal voltages. They are then solved using iterative techniques. Modular Load Flow (MLF) is formulated in terms of element voltages and makes a departure from the conventional load flow at the outset.

Augmented rectangular load flow model
IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2002This paper presents some improvements to the load flow solution in rectangular coordinates. First, in an attempt to use as linear a model as possible, both the nodal equations and the bus constraints are retained. The Newton-Raphson (NR) method is then applied to the enlarged set of equations, and written in terms of bus voltages and currents.
