Load-Balanced Route Discovery for Mobile Ad hoc Networks

open access: yes, 2004
This paper presents Flow-Aware Routing Protocol (FARP), a new routing strategy designed to improve load balancing and scalability in mobile ad hoc networks.

The use of micro-simulation for congested traffic load modelling of medium- and long-span bridges

open access: yes, 2011
This paper presents a new approach to the modelling of congested traffic loading events on long span bridges. Conventional traffic load models are based on weigh-in-motion data of non-congested traffic, or something similar to a Poisson Arrival process ...

Flutter prediction, suppression and control in aircraft composite wings as a design prerequisite: a survey [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Emergence of flutter compromises not only the long-term durability of the wing structure, but also the operational safety, flight performance and energy efficiency of the aircraft. Effectual means of flutter prevention are, therefore, mandatory in the

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Optimal control of UPFC for load flow control and voltage flicker elimination and current harmonics elimination

open access: yes, 2010
Recent advances in the power system handling capabilities of static switches have made the use of the voltage source inverter (VSI) feasible at both transmission and distribution levels.

Optimal feedback path selection for interconnected power systems using load frequency control strategy

open access: yes, 2020
The main goal of an interconnected power system is to transfer power from one area to another while the network frequency and tie‐line flow remain within the prescribed limits.

Enhancing the robustness of cyber–physical power systems: From the perspective of information flow control

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
In Cyber–Physical Power Systems (CPPSs), the deep coupling of physical and cyber systems can trigger cascading failures, resulting in cross-space fault propagation and an elevated risk of system collapse.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Network-based IP flow mobility support in 3GPPs evolved packet core

open access: yes, 2013
Includes bibliographical references.Mobile data traffic in cellular networks has increased tremendously in the last few years. Due to the costs associated with licensed spectrum, Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) are battling to manage these increased ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...
